BLAZE YOUR OWN TRAIL
July 6-10
Get ready to become an outdoor adventurer! This week, campers will build nature skills and safety knowledge that prepare them to lead their own adventures in the wild. From navigating with maps and compasses to practicing fire safety, building shelters, and identifying and tracking plants and animals, each day is full of hands-on exploration. Campers will also design their own nature games and try leading the group through them, building teamwork and leadership skills. By the end of the week, they’ll have the confidence and know-how to truly blaze their own trail in the great outdoors!

UNEARTH HIDDEN HIRUNDO SECRETS
July 20-24
There’s an entire world beneath our feet - are you ready to explore it? This week, campers will sharpen their observation skills while discovering the hidden worlds of small mammals, insects, decomposers, mushrooms, soils, and aquatic life. We’ll turn over rocks, follow animal tracks, and explore ponds and streams to find the creatures living below the surface. We’ll also connect what we see to archaeology and Wabanaki history at Hirundo. From creepy-crawlies to fungi, this week is all about noticing the small things that make a big impact.
SPLASH INTO YOUR NEXT ADVENTURE
August 3-7
Dive into Maine’s watery wonders! This week focuses on the ponds, streams, and rivers that shape our environment. Campers will explore these habitats through paddling adventures and hands-on water science, learning how water moves, what makes it healthy, and how to protect it. We’ll test water temperature, pH, clarity, and depth while exploring the connections between migratory fish, dams, and clean water. Campers will also learn about careers that care for waterways - from fisheries biologists to water-quality specialists. Through science, adventure, and action, they’ll discover how they can make a difference for water and wildlife!

DISCOVER YOUR INNER NATURALIST
August 17-21
What does it mean to be a naturalist? This week, campers will dive into the living world around them, learning to identify local plants, animals, and their tracks. From exploring conservation projects to participating in community science, this week is all about connecting with nature and making an impact. Campers will use tools like ID guides, nature apps, and binoculars to deepen their understanding of the natural world, building a lifelong relationship with nature and the skills to care for it.
Camp Scholarships
Exciting News! Hirundo now offers scholarships!
We believe every child should have the opportunity to connect with nature, explore the outdoors, and experience the magic of camp. A limited number of scholarships are available to help make camp accessible to more families.
