Community Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator (Part Time)

Are you passionate about connecting like-minded people who are dedicated to preserving the great outdoors for the benefit and enjoyment of all?

We are seeking an individual with strong fundraising, relationship-building, and communication skills to expand community partnerships, financial support, and volunteer base, for our mission

Role

  • Community Outreach (30 %)

  • Fundraising and Income Streams (40%)

  • Volunteer Management (20%)

  • Rental Program + Other Duties (10%)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead fundraising efforts + community partnerships

  • Plan + implement fundraising campaigns, solicit and track donations and sponsorships

  • Schedule + represent Hirundo at public events, tabling opportunities, and media engagements

  • Oversee volunteer recruitment + management

  • ​Manage equipment rental programs + site use fee requests

Requirements:

  • 3+ years cultivating donors or business sponsors, preferred but not required

  • 3-5 years experience in project management, preferred but not required

  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to nonprofit sector

  • Volunteer management experience

  • Strong organizational abilities

  • Strong written and oral communication skills including public speaking

  •  Proficiency with technology + database management tools (including but not limited to Google Workspace, Mailchimp, social media)

Pay: 

This position is Part-Time.

Up to $28/hr, commensurate with experience.

This position will be based between Hirundo, our University of Maine - based office, and outreach in the Greater Bangor community.
