Sam Hess and Charles Hess, UMaine professors received a grant from NASA for three 12-inch-square, remote-control quadcopters, which were used to film the refuge. Read more here:

Visitors are welcome at Hirundo daily from dawn to dusk.  Gate 1 is open to vehicles every day 9am to 6pm.  If gate is closed, you may park at the gate and walk in.
